Color Me…
Color becomes a conduit for emotional and metaphysical expression—blending, refracting, reflecting, glowing, and shifting to evoke dreamlike landscapes and otherworldly realms. Biomorphic shapes and transparent hues intertwine the intimate with the infinite, recalling organic rhythms of cells, plants, landforms, and universes.
Using Plexiglas and wood layered with gels, acrylics, and ink washes, I explore color through light rather than pigment. This interplay of light and transparency blurs the line between physical and virtual. Painterly fragments float on distinct planes, converging into a unified whole when illuminated.
Lit constructions cast ephemeral “paintings” onto the wall, merging material and immaterial. Phosphorescent colors emit a soft radiance, while filtered light generates a kaleidoscope of evolving forms. As viewers move, shifting perspectives activate the work, inviting them into a dynamic interplay of light, color, form.
